IHSAYA is an Islamic companion application providing features including Quran content, translations, prayer-related features, Qibla direction, reminders, bookmarks, daily guidance and multilingual content.
This Privacy Policy explains how IHSAYA accesses, processes, stores and shares information when you use the IHSAYA mobile application and related services.
IHSAYA uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the application is used and to improve reliability and user experience.

We use this information primarily to understand application usage, identify problems and improve features. We do not use Firebase Analytics to intentionally collect names, passwords, Quran notes containing personal information, financial information or private communications.
Some IHSAYA features may request access to your device location, when you grant permission, for location-dependent functionality such as prayer times and Qibla direction.
IHSAYA does not use precise location information for sale or unrelated advertising purposes, and we do not intentionally maintain a history of your precise GPS location on IHSAYA-operated servers.
You may deny or revoke location permission through your device settings. Some location-dependent features may not work correctly without this permission.
IHSAYA may request permission to send notifications for features such as prayer reminders, Quran reminders and other user-selected guidance.
Notification preferences and scheduling information may be stored locally on your device so that reminders can operate correctly. You can disable notifications at any time using IHSAYA settings or your Android device settings.

IHSAYA does not control the independent privacy practices of third-party service providers. Users are encouraged to review the privacy information provided by those services where applicable.

Information stored locally by IHSAYA generally remains on your device until it is removed through application functionality, application data is cleared, or the application is uninstalled.
Analytics information processed through Firebase is retained according to the analytics configuration used by IHSAYA and the applicable retention practices of Google Firebase.
We aim to retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including operational, security and legal requirements.
IHSAYA currently does not require users to create a personal account for its core application functionality.
You can remove locally stored application information by clearing the application's data through your device settings or by uninstalling IHSAYA.

IHSAYA may be used in multiple countries. Third-party technology providers may process information in countries other than the country in which you live, subject to their applicable privacy safeguards and legal obligations.

This Privacy Policy also covers the IHSAYA website (ihsaya.com), in addition to the mobile application described above. Where a website feature works differently from the application, this section explains it.
The website stores a small amount of information in your browser's local storage, specifically your language preference (for example, English or Tamil), so the site can remember your choice as you navigate between pages. This is not used to identify you personally and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.
Some pages may take your browser's requested language into account to help present the correct language version of a page. This does not create a separate tracking profile beyond serving that page.
Prayer-time pages request calculated prayer times from the Aladhan API for the city or coordinates relevant to the page you are viewing. As with any web request to a third-party service, standard network information such as your IP address may necessarily be processed by that service in order to respond.
The website does not currently run a separate website analytics service. If website analytics is added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated to describe it before it is enabled.
Loading a page may cause your browser to request fonts, images, stylesheets or scripts from services we operate or from the third-party content providers described elsewhere in this Policy. Each such request is subject to standard web request information such as IP address, handled by the service responding to it.
The website does not currently display advertising. If advertising is introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy and any required consent mechanism will be updated, and any applicable consent will be requested, before advertising is enabled.
