Understanding Al-Adiyat
Al-Adiyat opens with the intense image of charging horses, then turns sharply to human ingratitude and attachment to wealth. It closes by reminding that graves and hidden motives will be exposed before the fully informed Lord. This page intentionally separates the translated Quran text from IHSAYA's short educational summary.
The opening image shows focused effort and momentum before turning to the moral condition of the human heart.
Human beings can receive much while still behaving as though they have been denied.
Strong attachment to possessions is named directly as a spiritual danger.
Editorial basis: the Quran text and attributed translation on this page. See IHSAYA Sources for the editorial sourcing standard.
Reflection prompts
- Where do I show more intensity for worldly goals than for moral ones?
- What blessing do I enjoy while still complaining as if I lack everything?
