Understanding Al-Qadr

Al-Qadr describes the Night of Decree as a night in which the Quran was sent down, better than a thousand months, with angels descending and peace extending until dawn. This page intentionally separates the translated Quran text from IHSAYA's short educational summary.

Revelation gives a night extraordinary worth

The value of the night is tied to divine revelation rather than ordinary timekeeping.

A short period can outweigh a long span

Spiritual value is not measured only by duration.

Peace until dawn

The closing image emphasizes a night marked by peace and divine activity.

Editorial basis: the Quran text and attributed translation on this page. See IHSAYA Sources for the editorial sourcing standard.

Reflection prompts

  • Do I recognize moments whose spiritual value is greater than their duration?
  • How can I prepare my attention for times of worship instead of arriving distracted?
