Understanding As-Saffat
As-Saffat opens with ranks of obedient heavenly servants, rejects false claims about Allah, and then moves through prophetic episodes including Nuh, Ibrahim and the sacrifice test, Musa, Harun, Ilyas, Lut and Yunus. This page intentionally separates the translated Quran text from IHSAYA's short educational summary.
The opening ranks convey disciplined service rather than rivalry for divine status.
The sacrifice episode presents obedience, consultation and surrender in a moment of intense personal cost.
Repeated prophetic accounts end by honoring faithful service and contrasting it with rejection.
Editorial basis: the Quran text and attributed translation on this page. See IHSAYA Sources for the editorial sourcing standard.
Reflection prompts
- What does obedience look like when it costs something I value deeply?
- Do I approach worship as disciplined service or only when emotion makes it easy?
