Understanding Al-Waqi'ah
Al-Waqiah describes the Day of Judgment as a certain, inevitable event and divides people into three groups based on their response to faith and guidance: those foremost in good, the companions of the right, and the companions of the left. It then points to signs in creation, from human origin to rain and fire, as reasons to reflect and be grateful. This page intentionally separates the translated Quran text from IHSAYA’s short educational summary.
The Surah opens by describing the Day of Judgment as certain and unstoppable.
It categorizes people by their response to faith: foremost in good, companions of the right, and companions of the left.
It points to ordinary things — how we were created, the water we drink, the fire we use — as reasons for reflection and gratitude.
Editorial basis: the Quran text and attributed translation on this page. See IHSAYA Sources for the editorial sourcing standard.
